The entire image used to fit this curtain was approximately 37.9 width X 17.715 height. In order to cut it out with the Cricut machine I had to make four different files being sure to keep each one within printing range of 11.5 X 23.5. The image files were as follows (if you need the individual files, let me know):
- Pirat of the – 19.085 width X 9.606 height
- es – 6.875 width X 4.342 height
- Caribb – 23.5 width X 10.078 height
- ean – 14.677 width X 7.831 height
Be sure to put the shiny side of the iron-on vinyl down on your mat and mirror the image. Use the Cricut with the fine point blade to cut out the image(s).
Carefully weed the vinyl and place the image onto the curtain. Then iron it onto the curtain using parchment paper and the polyester setting.
We used Midshipman’s Hitch knot to attach the curtain to the oar to match the knot used on the Pirates of the Caribbean ride at the Magic Kingdom.
To the dowel we attached a long piece of rope and rolled it up with the bottom of the curtain to the length we wanted the curtain to hang. Then we tied the rope from the dowel to the oar to secure the bottom.
